Sin is a term used mainly in a religious context to describe an act that violates a moral rule, or the state of having committed such a violation. Sin typically involves deliberately or purposefully harming some living organism (including human as well as other living animals or organisms) without a proper reason.
In monotheistic religions, the code of conduct is determined by God. Colloquially, any thought, word, or act considered immoral, shameful, harmful, or alienative might be termed "sinful".
Common ideas surrounding sin in various religions include:
Punishment for sins, from other people, from God either in life or in afterlife, or from the Universe in general.
The question of whether or not an act must be intentional to be sinful.
The idea that one's conscience should produce guilt for a knowing sin.
A scheme for determining the seriousness of the sin.
Repentance from (expressing regret for and determining not to commit) sin, and atonement (repayment) for past deeds.
The possibility of forgiveness of sins, often through communication with a deity or intermediary; in Christianity often referred to as salvation.
Crime and justice are related secular concepts
Violence is, on the one hand, acts of aggression and abuse that cause or intend to cause injury to person(s) (and by some definitions animals or property). Central to this concept of violence is the presence of the definite intention to cause significant (usually physical) injury, damage and harm. Another, very different meaning of violence is when the word is used to denote the use of (legal) political force, such as executed by a policy force or military force. (It does not mean that all police or military force is legal - it just indicates that we are talking about the public domain). Definitions of violence such as used by Max Weber, Hannah Arendt et al must be understood in the light of this public domain.
In the first significance, violence is often a crime. Damage to property is typically considered minor relative to violence against persons, and harm to animals may be considered acts of violence, depending on the situation and social values related to animal cruelty. The term "violence" also connotes an aggressive tendency to act out destructive behaviours. Violence can also be divided into two forms — random violence, which includes unpremeditated or small-scale violence, and coordinated violence, which includes actions carried out by sanctioned or unsanctioned violent groups —such as war (ie. inter-societal violence), in some cases certain types of revolution, or terrorism.
Good Luck...

Understanding what god is all about is the key to what a sin is. God is the energy that sustain life in the universe, your soul s the energy that, sustain life in your body. its your soul is what was created in the image of god. understanding your soul helps you identify sin. god is life, so that mean your soul is life. which means, sins is anything that interfere, interrupt, or ends life. remember, when god created Adam, he "BECAME" key word. a living soul. to become something means you was something before you became that. before we was living souls, we was just souls. god gave our souls the power to rule our bodies. life is the key. god is life, your soul is life. god gave us two purposes in life, he said be fruitful and multiply (be productive and continue life). the entire bible is written from these two purposes. life is the key to how you identify sin. sin is the death of things or life. people waiting on a war, when the war has already started. look around you. what life do you see. how are you helping to bring life back into your city, family, bloodline, friends, neighborhood and your world? I can only change me, its up to you to decide what change you need. the word of god show you how to think correctly. but its up to you to, live how you choose. good choice equal good blessings, bad choice equal bad blessings. Brother, believe in Jesus and ask Him to wash you with HIS BLOOD, for HE IS COMING! And I know, because He let me know, HE IS COMING NOW, no sinner shall inherit the Kingdom of God (go to Heaven).
