It's the HUMAN race. There are no winners. We're all the same, but as you state, that's not the world we live in.
Hopefully your son will learn a lot about how to treat others and will know true friendship, perhaps beyond that of the rest of us.
As you said, there will be some hard times, certainly, but we all face our own struggles. He'll be fine. Learning humans can be really lousy isn't a terrible thing to learn. We all learn it sooner or later. I realize as a parent myself that we feel their pain as if we've walked in their shoes, because we have.
Sounds like your a terrific parent. It will all work out fine.

Show him unconditional love and teach him to love himself. This issue of race is not easy for anyone. He may reap some benefits from being mixed, and he may get rebuffed for that same reason. However, consider the other children who are dark skinned (not mixed) and the hell they have to endure sometimes. It makes no sense to pretend that there are no colors. There are colors and they are all beautiful in the garden of humanity. So you see, you have to do your best to train him to accept others and not view them as either better or worse than he is. Self acceptance and self love are two powerful lessons for anyone to learn. He will have to feel good about himself in order to feel good about others.

Unfortunately, he will be and this is a decision we make when we have children with other races. Sadly, society is just like that. He should hang with whoever is a friend to him. He shouldn't be made decide which he is white or black, because that is irrelevant. He will meet whites and blacks that will like him, he shouldn't feel like he needs to stick to one or the other. People are people and everybody has their own set of friends. If he is raised to feel like he can only hang with certain races, then you are being racist also and passing these feelings on to him.

you're right in the sense that you should teach him to be strong.
i think as a society we are gently working out kinks in the system and blending more.
Still there is this idea of tribalism. No matter who he hangs out with, make sure they are good people with good hearts.
it shouldn't be much of an issue in this day and age.
peace.
