Okay so I am really stressed out. Two days ago I took a first response pregnancy test with my 1st mornings urine. And it looked negative but then when I picked it up for a closer look I saw a faint skinny blue line in the + window. I took the test to the pharmacist at wal-greens and she said it was a positive...its just that the hcg might not be high enough yet. So I got two more tests...waited two days, and this morning when I woke up I took the other two and both were negative. And this was two days later....ahhh I am so confused. Could my hcg levels have dropped?....I havent had any bleeding of any kind. I have symptoms...sore breast, tired all the time, dizziness, bloating... I know that false positives are rare...and I was told it was a for sure +.....but why were the other two that I took this morning negative?? Is it just too early....help!

Hcg levels are not easily detected in otc test. The same thing has happen to me. Don't stress! My test did not show I was pregnant until I was 4 weeks. Good Luck

The test cannot be read after 10 minutes. The pharmacist should have known this and told you to test again. The first test was unreliable. Are you taking any fertility meds with hcg in them?

Otherwise- wait until you miss a period and test again. +1 for using first morning urine though.

Have you actually missed your period yet? Because the rate of false negatives is very high if you test before you miss your period. It seems odd to me that you would get a positive then negative results, because as you said the rates of false positives are extremely rare. Another possibility would be a very early miscarriage, where your body started producing hcg, it got high enough to trigger a positive, then went right back down.

Pregnancy test are void after 10 minutes, and so I don't know that I woud trust the test that you took to the pharmacist. If I were you I would call my OBGYN and see if you can get in for a blood test...that way you will know for sure what is going on. I hope everything turns out the way you want it too.

It could be a bad, faulty test. You should wait a few days and try again.
Even if a miscarriage happens, a positive line will show because of the existing hormones.
