I'm just organizations or people who may be willing to make a financial contribution towards the production cost. I'm not necessarily looking for someone to produce the play, I want to produce my own play. "For instance Justin Timberlake coming to concert sponsored by General Motors."

1. Have you got any kind of track record?
2. Have you entered any Play contest and had a staged reading or performance of your play?
3. Have you had a live reading of your play with neutrals to critique it?
4. How many years and plays have you produced or directed?
5. Have you gone to a college course on writing, formatting, synopsizing and selling a play?

If you can't honestly say yes to four out of the five and back it up if asked. You need some basics not "sponsors."

Try looking for local grants to at least get money to help you. Through that it'll lead or should lead to companies interested in sponsoring a night or the whole run of the play for you. You have to keep putting your name out there somehow. Perhaps sponsor a small local event(s). PUT YOUR NAME OUT THERE. Once people see your name out there they'll know about YOU. Good luck.

I have never heard of "sponsoring a play." Do you want an organization to to produce the play for you?

The first thing you should do is find yourself a reputable literary agent. Most producers will not accept unsolicited scripts that are submitted directly from the author. We actually send most of them back unopened.
