Probably because we are less than 20% of the world's population and use over 80% of its resources. Or maybe because we think that this is the best country out there and there are dozens of places like the UK, Germany, Norway, etc. that are comparable. Shall I keep going.....

It could also be better. Without the feedback from the masses, the politicians would just think "Why fix it, if it ain't broken?" Many positive changes have occurred in America's past because of criticism. (Giving women the right to vote, for example.) That being said, the criticism should be constructive in nature, rather than just complaining about the past without offering a solution.

The rest of the world seems to look at Americans like we are selfish materialistic society....I guess basically that is true....The thing that amazes me is that don't stop to think about where we came from....America is made of immigrants from all over the world including the native American Indian. At any rate we are a product of generations of generations of parents wanting better for their children than what they had. I wish sometimes that we lived in a simpler time like when I was a child, but the truth is there is nothing we can do about that. Technology has shaped our generation and our children's generation to a point that there is no turning back.

The answer to your question is ignorance.

Because we are viewed as pushy and we don't always have the right motives. You are right, we as a nation (I am assuming that when you say America that you mean U.S.) could do a lot worse, but that would just make us a bigger target. I would like to see a more laid back approach, but we are rather trapped inside this shell we have created. There is a lot more to be said, but it is getting beyond fun.

I'm not one of them for sure.I'm Italian and even though have never been there I love your country and your culture.Apart from the capitalism of course.I just reckon your society should consider more the average people and the poor and not just allow the very wealthy ones to live well.

Get real. Everybody criticises anything and everything. It's good to criticise but only if you have a rational suggestion. That's the way we can all improve.

I'm guilty of doing that. I have plenty of reasons but I admit that sometimes I do it because it makes me feel better.
