EL - ə - nər (more common American pronunciation)
or EL - ə -nor (more British)

Notes:
1) the first syllable is accented
2) the sound marked ə --called"schwa" (or "schewa") -- is the sound of a 'reduced' vowel, one that has lost the accent. . . It may sound more like a short e (eh) or short u (uh), depending on the surrounding sounds, but it isn't exactly either sound.

This sound can actually be indicated by ANY of the vowel-letters. Hence the American Heritage dictionary gives as examples - about, item, edible, gallop, circus (that is the a in 'about, the 'e' in 'item', etc.)
