It was Celtics' day in Boston so they wore Celtic green as a tribute to the late Arnold "Red" Auerbach, the legendary head coach of the great Celtics teams of the 1950s and 60s. He led the Celtics to 13 NBA Championships, a feat that will never be equaled. May he rest in peace. We'll miss seeing him lighting his victory cigars in the Fleet Center. I also noticed a patch on the sleeve honoring the victims of the Virginia Tech shootings.

This was a tribute to Red Auerbach. He was the coach of the Boston Celtics (NBA basketball team). The legendary Red Auerbach died last year.
They also wear that green on St. Pats day during spring training.

Celtics day for Celtics' longtime coach who died last year as first anniversary of his death yesterday. Red Sox did honored in both coach's death and virginia tech shooting.

they where plaing in favor oof the dead manager of the boston celtics... they were supposed to wear green on opening day but they got rained out so they wore it last night,
