I'm in pain, but it's not THAT bad. I could probably handle it. Should I just try and bash my shoulder back into its socket, or should I make a doctor's appointment for Monday?

There are some different methods of reducing a dislocated shoulder. I will give two - (a) Lie on a table with the shoulder just over the edge. Allow the arm to hang down and when it is at full stretch, gently twist your wrist to right and left. If this produces great pain – stop. (b) Have a person pass a sheet, or some long material, around your body and hold it on the uninjured side. Have a second person pull gently but firmly on the bent elbow of the dislocated arm, pulling the shoulder away from your body while maintaining the forearm at a 90-degree angle from the body. The first person, on the opposite side will be pulling against the force of the second person. Have the second person gently rotate the arm on the shoulder joint as if you were trying to throw a baseball. Move the arm slowly back and forth maintaining steady tension until the shoulder slides back into place. Do not force the shoulder back into place. Stop immediately if pain increases or the shoulder resists manipulation. After a successful reduction, the arm should be placed in a sling for a few days. If you suffer any untoward symptoms following the reduction, for example, lack of blood flow to the arm or ‘pins-and-needles’ you should seek medical aid. The cause could be a trapped brachial artery or / and nerve. You would be advised to see your doctor whether you reduce it yourself or not. There is always the possibility of bony damage that might interfere with any reduction as well as the possibilities already mentioned.

Hope this helps

First feel whether the bulge of the upper arm is there or not it it is not then then it is anterior disloction of the shoulder. If u cannot see the doctor then you can put about 4 kg of weight over your wrist an hang your upper limb outof the bed this might reduce the dislocation in few hours. Take some pain killer

Yep go get it checked out now. its easier to put it back in before it starts swelling. They will do a quick x-ray put it in and you will be on your way. The picture will make sure you haven't done anything more to it that would require more than just putting it back in place.
don't wait, Take care!

Um, yeah, probably better go see a doctor. If you try to fix it yourself, you may just cause more damage.

Yes, see a doctor. Also have him check your tank for bad air!
It might be effecting your logic. Just teasing!

Doctor's are for candy-asses. Knock your shoulder back in place as Mel Gibson did in "Lethal Weapon".

You don't want to do more damage by trying to fix it yourself. I would go to the emergency now; don't wait until Monday.

Yes. There could be a chance you've chipped a bone in the joint.
