I AM 24 YEARS OLD AND I HAVE A PERIOD THAT HAS LASTED FOR 8 MONTHS. I'VE WENT TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM AFTER BLEEDING FOR 3 MONTHS AND I WAS TOLD THIS IS NORMAL FOR SOME WOMEN AND NOT TO WORRY. AFTER 5 MONTHS OF BLEEDING I WENT TO A CLINIC AND I WAS GIVEN 10 PILLS CALLED PROGESTERONE AND I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD GET MY CYCLE BACK ON TRACK. I TOOK THE PILLS AND I STOPPED BLEEDING FOR 2 WEEKS AND STARTED BACK AGAIN WHICH HAS TURNED INTO 8 MONTHS. I AM BLEEDING VERY HEAVY, I WEAR SUPER PADS AND TAMPONS. I WEAR BOTH TOGETHER AND I HAVE TO CHANGE EVERY HOUR BECAUSE I SOAK THE TAMPON AND THE PAD. I EVEN USE PAPER TOWEL AS AN EXTRA PADDING WITH THE PAD AND TAMPON AND I LEAK THROUGH THAT AS WELL. I SEARCH ONLINE FOR ISSUES RELATED TO MINE AND ALL I FIND IS "MISSED PERIODS" AND " PRE-MENOPAUSE FOR WOMEN 35 YEARS AND OLDER" I DON'T SEE ANYTHING RELATING TO ME. I'M TIRED OF THE EMBARRASSMENT MESSING UP CLOTHES, SHEETS, FURNITURE, NOT HAVING INTERCOURSE. PLEASE HELP!! KEEP IN MIND " I'M 24 YEARS OLD"

Talk to a competent gynecologist. Bleeding heavily like that for months on end is not normal, and does place you in danger of anemia.

Good luck!

I had a similar difficulty - I had very unusual and heavy classes for some years; my scientific expert placed me on a delivery administration pill and that i could desire to by no potential make useful to take it on the comparable time every day so I asked him approximately getting Mirena and so some distance that is been heaven. I incredibly have had it for basically over a 365 days and after approximately 6 months the classes went away, the only downfall i've got observed so some distance is each and every now and then intercourse is painful for the 1st little bit and likewise each and every now after which you have cramps that are actually not any worse than commonplace mentrual cramps. (and it additionally hurts like not the rest to get it put in in case you have by no potential had a baby)

Honey, I had those same problems. Mine went misdiagnosed for years. You do need to find a good doctor, 1st and foremost. They finally found out that P.C.S.D- poly cystic ovarian syndrome, and complex endometrial hyperlasia, were causing my problems. Progesterone did the same thing to me. Now I am on another brand of it and I have normal periods like everyone else. I started the problems @ 18yrs old and went misdiagnosed until I was 29. I am now 31 and feel as close to normal as possible. The pill worked for awhile but caused massive mood swings. e-mail me if you need more help.

Firstly, you need to be taking Iron & Magnesium tablets so you dont mess up your vitamin intake. You lose alot of everything when you bleed. Have you tried the Pill? That should regulate your periods. Or ask your Dr about Depo-Provera. That should stop them completely for 3mths. Otherwise, see a Gynochologist.

You might need to get on a birth control pill just to regulate your cycle.
