I am ranked at #186 right now and I have been picking stocks that have been releasing earnings news lately and it's been working. Is there any way to know if a company will have good earnings or bad earnings news just before it comes out? I think next week is the last week to make it to the finals and I don't really have room for mistakes. Thanks a million!

Obviously if you are #186 you don't need much help, per se...just more lucky picks. I'm quite thrilled to be in the top 3%(thanks to Jones Soda and a few very lucky spec. picks). I agree that you must be a day trader to have an edge(even more so in the"beat the street" game, in which shorts got me to # 482). So, my philosophy for the CNBC game is "PICK-AND-PRAY" lol

you wont get it and hers why. First you have to be a day trader. second you have to constantly get the right answers on their trivia challenge miss a week and you are out of it. This game is skewed for this purpose and while i'm happy with my top 14% I don't think its fair to win just by getting trivia answers right. Won't mess with them next year.
