I am 25 and I find I don't get much respect from older folk..maybe it's because Im a 'girl' and young..?
Do you deserve more respect?

Thank you 'first ascent' - This is Exactly what I mean. I am glad you understood my question.
Same with me - I have a BSc degree and am doing an MBA at the moment, but no one seems to congratulate me or anything. Maybe it is jealousy.

To be honest I think people can be a bit jealous at times. I think at 30, I have achieved quite alot both in work (chef) and interest (mountaineering). I don't fish for compliments or want praise, but even family members like to have a dig sometimes. Its rare that someone comes out and tells me 'good on you' or something like that.
Oh well, I'll carry on regardless anyway - what i do is for me, its basically irrelevant what others think.

Have respect for yourself, and for those around you, and you will find others will show you the respect you deserve. And I am treated respectively, but as I said, thats the way I treat others ,I wouldn't accept anything less.

i think everyone deserves respect but some people can cross the line, think about it people older than us probably grew up a different way when the way we have grown up is allot different and we don't help as much as they did.

deserving respect doesnt mean youll get it in every way,
its like expecting something you give in return. just do your thing girl, and be glad of it. we cant control how others to treat us, since they can also be prone of giving out wrong signals on you. what if they do respect you but they find it hard to show it to you, or you find it hard to appreciate it.

oh yes...most older people think all teenagers are rude and mean but thats really not how it is...there are some good ones out there.
