Hi. I have an Alienware Area-51 m7700. My dad has this obsession with leaving laptops plugged into the wall when they're done being charged and not being used for he's convinced the batteries will explode or the computer will overheat or some other catastrophe will occur. I would think that there would be precautions against this, and once the battery is full it would stop accepting 'juice,' but I'm not entirely sure.

Do I have anything to worry about with my laptop exploding? Should I unplug it and turn it off when Im not using it or is it safe to keep it plugged in?

Thanks a lot!

Unless there was a recall on the battery, it will not explode (check alienware's website, though I don't remember seeing any)

All new batteries have overcharge protection built in. Just like the myth of completely discharging a battery is false too (this only applies to ni-cad batteries, most new ones are lithium ion).

you're able to desire to purchase a computing device cooler..warmth harm can particularly harm your computing device ....Its impressive how a lot of human beings have broken their laptops reason the insist on blockading the vents below their computing device by putting the computing device on their beds together as making use of it
