An elderly friend has a skylight in her kitchen which makes the room very very hot, she has been told there is a material she can get to cover the glass that will let light through but keep heat out. But we have not been able to find this. Can anyone help?

You need Scotchtint 3M thermal film, it applies to the glass like tinted window film for cars. A good glazier should be able to supply and fit for you.
