It depends on whether you efiled or mailed your return, and whether you asked for direct deposit or for a check to be mailed to you.
The fastest way is efile and direct deposit - that takes 9-15 days. Efiling and getting a check mailed would take about a week longer, plus mailing time.
Filing by mail will probably take 6-8 weeks to get your check.
The time isn't after the April deadline, it's after you file.

I would guess the maximum time your refund will take is 6 to 8 weeks. I would always recommend if you are getting a refund, file as soon as possible after Jan. 30. Jan 30 is the dead line for companies to put W2 in the mail. The early you file the less time it takes to get your refund back. The later you file, the more people have mailed in their tax returns and it just takes longer. My Minnesota taxes were e-filed on 4/16 & my refund was deposited on 4/20.

Until the IRS decides to send it out!
Just kidding.
Direct deposits usually take about 8 to 15 days. Checks mailed usually take about 3 to 4 weeks. This all depends on when you filed and if the IRS is examining (not auditing) your return for items such as EIC, or dependent claims.
I'm not sure when, but if it is delayed beyond a certain # of weeks, they will pay interest on it.
