seems to me the teacher also encouraged picking on him by threatening him in front of the class with an F for not participating. why would an adult teacher do that to a shy little kid? this incident happened in grade school.
And no i am not defending Chos actions in killing people.
I just want to know where they get these teachers. If a teacher did this to my kid I would have him FIRED.

Chris Davids, a Virginia Tech senior who graduated from Westfield High School in Chantilly, Va., with Cho in 2003, recalled that the South Korean immigrant almost never opened his mouth and would ignore attempts to strike up a conversation.
Once, in English class, the teacher had the students read aloud, and when it was Cho's turn, he just looked down in silence, Davids recalled. Finally, after the teacher threatened him with an F for participation, Cho started to read in a strange, deep voice that sounded "like he had something in his mouth," Davids said.
"As soon as he started reading, the whole class started laughing and pointing and saying, `Go back to China,'" Davids said.

Where the hell did you come up with that lie?
Seung-Hui was one of two kids. He was on psychoactive therapy, meaning he took drugs for mental health, but, the prescribed medicines have a history of aobut 4% to 8% of patients having side effects of psychotic behavior, suicidal and homocidal tendencies!
In about half of the mass murders, the perpetrators were on prescription psychoactive medications.
The Cho family is from KOREA, NOT China!
Teachers and students tried to befriend Seung-Hui, invited him to participate and join in, since his enrollment here at Virginia Polytechnical Institute. He resisted, and was reported three times for misdemeaner stalking.
He was committed to mental health facility, but, the judge did not check the block that stated he was involuntarily committed, so, he walked out!
The best protection against psychos, is for everyone who is responsible to carry concealed weapons. If only one student or teacher had, there wouldn't be 33 dead victims, plus 29 gunshot wound victims!
You need to go find out all the facts before asking such stupid questions from such a silly perspective.
Wow, ignorance can be corrected, but stupid just suffers forever!

I know what you mean and I think the teacher should have been scolded for not intercepting accordingly! Kids and others can be cruel to others and they fail to realize maybe a problem is within, which is very sad. The Teacher had a duty to go to the boy's aid but just sat there, shame!
That's the problem now days, people just stand back and don't bother to recognize signs of withdrawl in a child, and the boy's was quite obvious!
Awareness is sorely needed in this society.!

Because almost all americans will taunt chinese in america with this, "Go back to China"
But what the heck.
In China, Americans are told, "Yankees go home!" and they don't go kill 32 people in Beijing University.

people are people doesn't matter their background or color, if the kids were doing that and the teacher didn't do anything...then they should be doing that to a Hispanic...they probably would! which is bad because that would be prejudice.
