Chritian music is generally pretty bad. I've been puzzled about this for quite sometime, but now I have a theory. I think what it is is that there's a lot of Christian bands out there who actually have talent. But they don't become published because they think it will somehow take the glory away from God and onto themselves. So they keep all that talent to themselves.
What made me think of this was that I recently got a CD from a friend that she recorded. This is the first Christian CD I've ever heard and really enjoyed. But my friend has no desire whatsoever to, you know, get her name out there or become famous or something like that. She just wants to lead praise and worship in her church.

ForeverAtLast, Skillet, Red, and Flyleaf are all good. Personally, I'd recommend ForeverAtLast over them all, but they're my favorite band on the list so I'm kind of biased lol.

I have not read any of the other postings, but I would recommend Desciple and Pillar. If you like it really heavy, then try Demon Hunter.
