is it an internal dial up modem or a cable modem attached by USB or ethernet????

go to your control panel and select system, hardware, device manager and look for you modem in the list, it will probably have a yellow exclamation mark beside it. click on it and write down the details to search for the driver or post it here. Once you find the right driver you will be able to copy the file to a flash drive or cdrom and install it to the comp not on the internet.

or run the tool below to see what modem you have installed then search for the driver on the internet or post it here and i someone will find it for you http://www.snapdrive.net/files/266187/BelarcAdvisor.zip

Re installing windows and Modem are two different things. If your modem is installed once it will keep the setting. So there is no need to re-install.

As far as question of re installing windows and you could not connect to Internet. Please check if your MS Outlook Express is working or not if not you will have to set it here then you will be able to connect to Internet.
You can open MS Outlook if you got, click on Tools click on Account click on Property and see if your name which you used in e-mail is there and even your e-mail address. If not you will have to set those information again.

My system is in Japanese otherwise I would have given you full details how to re set that.
If you still need help send e-mail then I will try to tell you

no modem= no net!
easy , go to my computer, control panel, network /inet connections..over to the left you will see a box saying modem options. there is a very high chance your modem drivers are already there. just look for internal/external , do remember to pick speed! and it will install it. with the wizard
(i am with aapt, and they are great,) if you need help with any issues you should be able to call your ISP and be talked through it! thats what they are there for! if they dont provide 24/7 service or charge for it...change companies!
oh just a thought....did you! ??re-enter your connection details..if thats not there it can,t dial out- even if the modem is installed :-) check it out!

You can go to the manufacture's site and download the driver on a computer where you can reach the internet. Then you can either copy it to a floppy, burn it to a CD, or use a flash drive to get it on to the other computer.

Usually your ISP (Internet Service Provider) sends you a CD when you sign up for their service. You may need to ring your ISP's support desk to get hold of another disk if you cannot find the one they sent you.

you maximum in all probability could replace the drivers on your NIC (community Interface Card), this occurs plenty once you reinstall from scratch. you may discover out what form of NIC card you have or if its geared up into your motherboard the drivers on your motherboard. in case you have cds with drivers on them, set up those that relate to networking. in case you do not, discover out what form of board you have and google your heart out for drivers. It grew to become right into a discomfort in my *** as quickly as I didnt have any documentation on my previous comp and had to google a ton of random type-letter sequences to discover the surprising drivers. sturdy success.
