This is me:
I shop at Aeropostale, Abercrombie, Old Navy and Kohls; I am not in any sports except tennis; I wear my hair down all the time with a clip in it puffing the front up; I wear casual (but I am always matching!) clothing, like fitting t-shirts, jeans and denim capris (little do I wear khackies), never sweatshirts, mostly just that; don't have any designer bags, all I wear is mascara and lip gloss; paint my nails a whole lot; glasses (soon to be contacts) and braces. So...am I a prep?

You are starting the prep stage, but coming from me, ur really not! To become a prep, you need at least one designer bag,(preferably coach) you need to wear MUCH more make-up, you need to change ur hair alot, and u also need to wear at least 3 of these....Abercrombie, Hollister, Aeropostale, American Eagle and Abercrombie and Fitch. That's what u need to become a prep! (braces are ok because i have them too)

sorry not really. you would wear khakis all the time, sweaters, sweater sets in particular, shoes like k-swiss, keds, you are sort of their with the fitted t's. preps don't usually wear denim a whole lot. it is way too casual. think about what you would wear to a country club or out yachting in massachusettes. it is about polo shirts, fitted button down oxfords, khaki pants, etc. very clean, very polished.

brands that are more preppy in style are j. crew, brooks brothers, polo/ralph lauren, banana republic, ann taylor loft, etc.

being a preppy is not about what brands you wear. it is about being clean, polished. they don't wear ripped clothing, or any of the destroyed style jeans.

i am an original prep from the 80s and that's what I grew up wearing.

Well, if you were at our school, you wouldn't be a prep.

A lot of popular people wear sweatshirts and sweatpants.

Old navy and Kohls and Aeropostale are not very preppy.
Abercrombie is, but that's about it.

I think you can be who you are without attaching labels to it. You are an individual!
