Whats things a 'new' person from northeast would have to watch out for?Other than the obvious.....no snow, low humidity,no mowing yards? How are the jobs? Are people nice/friendly?Renting apartments?Gas ......etc.
We're thinking of moving in a few years and want the low down on the state.Besides a totally different environment.
Thanks.

House prices are cheaper on the outskirts, but you'd probably have to drive a long ways to work.

Summers are almost painfully hot, so make sure your car has good air conditioning (house is a given). Get real comfortable with sweat and drink lots of water! There is a rainy season in late summer so go ahead and pack your umbrellas. There are fewer people here in summer than in winter because we have a lot of 'snowbirds' or retired people who live here in the winter and up north in the summer.

Gas prices I think are about at the national average.

Most people came here from somewhere else, and I think they're friendly... at least it's metropolitan enough that it's not as closed-minded as some places. I feel very comfortable here.

AZ isn't glamourous, but there's lots of fun things to do and I think it's a great place to live.

Look out for folks that don't want you in their state.
