I looked in the Sound menu and it says"Microphone...Conexant High Definition Audio....Working..." So does that mean I have a microphone? I tried to record and no sound was played back. It is already enabled, unmuted, and do not have any other microphone.

Doesn't look like it, in the Specs page it only mentions a Mic INPUT

I am sure you will have as recent computers all got it. I think you might check. Go to Control Panel
Locate a Speaker Icon that is: Sound and Audio device
Click that or from speaker icon on task bar below double click on it a new window will be opened
Volume Control
Option
Property
Check if radio button(round) is checked for recording and see the check boxes below.
