(I wonder if I can use "we" to refer to just one person, Dr. Michael). Below is the letter. Please see the word between asterisk

-----------------
Dear Mr. Jack

I am writing in order to gain clarification on behalf of Mr. Alex. On Thursday, May 9th, 2007, the agenda states that two options will be offered by the organizing committee to the participants, which are to stay in Barcelona (visiting museum, shopping, etc) or to visit Vatican.

Mr. Alex is looking forward to the second option (visiting Vatican), however, *we* are wondering if the transportation from Barcelona to Vatican is provided by the organizing committee or if *we* have to book our own flight. If you could please elaborate on the transportation *we* would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter.

Best Regards,

Sorry I meant Mr. Alex, not Mr. Michael

From what you wrote, it sounds like "we" is ok, since you and Mr Alex are both wondering, and apparently you'd be in charge of booking his flight, if need be. The only questionable part is "our own flight". I'd suggest changing it to "book the flight ouselves", since it's not YOUR flight even though you're the one booking it.

(One other point, we say either "Vatican City" or "the Vatican", not "Vatican" on its own.)
