Yes, usually this is the problem most of my friends face to buy laptop or desktop?
My answer to them and to you also is, it depends what for do you need a computer.
Now a days laptops are cheaper, lighter and faster than before. It will save space even if you do not want to carry. But only one problem which I had faced before is audio recording is not good as desktop because in desktop we can easily change parts.
When you put laptop on a table key board will be nearer to you not screen which will cause eye sight problem in long run. But in case of desktop you could adjust monitor according to your need which will cause lesser eye sight problem.
If you are a person to record/edit/audio or video in that case I will 200% suggest buy Desktop. But if not then laptop will be fine.
And finally check your budget then compare with my advise and you will make a right decision.
Hope this will help you

Completely depends on how much money you want to spend. You can buy a cheap desktop for about 500.00 new and then get your upgrades: videocard,160 gb hard drive, 1gb memory for another 150.00 wich is cheaper than asking for all of the stuff included.
Despite what you may think, it is a simple process to put these things in yourself. Maybe a five minute job.
Good Luck!

If you are a busy person and you are into traveling, I suggest you get a laptop, from your specs, it's just more costly cause you'll get a laptop.Or if you are just in house doing stuff, just get a desktop pc, it will just be fine

properly in case you like it purchase it. If it incredibly works great then that is sturdy. get carry of IMs and notice if that's the comparable velocity. whether that's then purchase it. i might like XP laptops nevertheless. Vista is new and not properly suited with assorted stuff. that's my opinion.

Laptop. If you don't travel much you still should. Make sure it's 17" if you don't travel much because you'll mostly be using on a desk. If you travel alot get the 12.1", 13.3", 14.1" or bigger.
(max should be 15.4") Try HP or something.
