Because liberals think that you can just "talk" to anyone. They do not think that America has the right to defend itself, or prevent itself from being attacked again.

If you went onto the streets of New York and shouted out death to Iran over and over do you think the people there would say "oh, no - we can't say that". No, I think you'd find many people would join in.
As with ALL political broadcasts they bussed in the most hardline supporters of the regime to support it. The democrats and republicans do this too - they screen the people who are at major speeches so there is no possibility that people will disagree, in order to make the speakers look great.
To further re-enforce that this has obviously happened, where do you think all these 'casual ordinary Iranians' got all those thousands of Iranian flags from? Did they spontaneously and independently bring them? Of course not - they were handed out before the speech in a carefully orchestrated manner. You only have to look at the huge amount of emmigration amongst the educated of Iran to the West to see that Iranians have no problem with the west, and see it as the only alternative to the regime in Iran.
Certainly the government are no good thing, especially when they antagonise others in such a way - but to say all Iranian people believe firmly in what their government tells them is just as ridiculous there as to say the same thing of American people.
To close embassies and cut off relations means there is absolutely no dialogue between two sides - and it CANNOT get better until there is a war. If you continue to talk, even if nothing is achieved at least you know what the other side is thinking. The USSR not only said death to America politically and idealogically - but they actually had the capability to do it. Yet diplomatic channels remained open, and some compramises were made. Without this glasnost and perestroika may never have happened, and the USSR may still have been alive to this day.

This is the Iranian version of the George Bush line.... He is saying the same thing to his people as Bushie boy says to us. Bushies supporters just follow along and shout out his rhetoric-you know, "the evil empire", "axis of evil", "godless terrorists" and so forth.
It is a fine demonstration! Made for TV, complete with English sub-titles. Did you notice that he said the crowd MUST repeat the slogans. Do you think this would ever have taken place if the cameras weren't there?
This is no different than when little Georgie speaks before a crowd of his little puppets and protesters are NOT allowed into the area.
It is vitally important that the U.S. and other countries have diplomatic relations with each other. Even during the 40-year "cold war" with thousands of ICBM's pointed at each other and rhetoric flying all over the place, the U.S. and USSR talked to each other-and no bombs fell anywhere! Dialogue is what maintains the peace....not guns!

what i don't understand is why cons are so deathly frightened of little iran, but seem to forget how we dealt with the soviet union - a nation that had a vast military and thousands of nuclear warheads aimed directly at us.
a few radicals chanting scares the cons more than the legitimate threat of worldwide nuclear annhiliation.
it makes me wonder if these radical cons are fit to lead anything...

These piss ant countries that hate the fact we have a patriotic tough leader will even have dialog with pelosi just to turn the Americans on Bush. This is how silly Dems are. Their just like the black community, being lead to the cool-aid pond and don't even know it's harmful.

The funny thing is that the biggest thing that Iran hates about us is the things that liberals support. Gay marriage, Hollywood, the porn industry, NAMBLA, etc...
