a smart person knows when/how to use the wisdom they have learned,,,,, and the appropriate way to relate wisdom to others,,,, and accepts that they do not know everything,,,,, and that their knowledge may not apply to all people or all situations,,,,
so to be smart, you need wisdom, and to be wise, you need to be smart,,,, so i dont see a difference

the first point which strikes me when i hear the 2 words SMART and WISE -a wise man might be smart as well but a smart man not necessarily be wise.

elaborartion---
thers a asaying that "if you fill the unforgiving minute with 60 seconds worth of distance run,urs is the wrold and all thats in it moreover u will be a man"

relating to the above quote- both fit perfectly in the quote
the only differnce which u have asked in the question is--

a smart man will give his work the perfect shot ,he will balance everything in his life and measure the advantages and disadvantages .he will be appealing and convincing!
he will use the best of the skills which differntiate human beings from the the other myriad forms on earth and that is verbal skills.
2.a wise man is a man of dignity, honor and principles.nothing evil or wrong can persuade him to choose the wrong path.hes the wisest among all because he has reached the stage of self realisation.

i hope the answer was up to the mark.
cheers for asking such a question!
letme know what u think abt my answer asap!

The smart learns from the wise, but the wise learns from Self. The smart learns and acquires knowledge, but the wise learns and acquires peace. The smart thinks he knows something, but the wise learns he knows nothing. The smart believes what the wise says, but the wise learns is not smart to believe...lol

Good luck!

Same difference between a Millionaire and a reader who has read the book on "How to be a Millionaire".
Application ! Smart man has utilised wisdom (either his or available with someone else) to his own personal interests. And a wise man has wisom inside him. If he uses it, he is smart! Else a smart man would use him to be smart!
