Where there catchy songs annoying or just so terribly good you HAD to listen to them?

the songs are just catchy in an EXTREMELY girly kind of way... you REALLY have to be in "a moment" to listen to them unless you're REALLY young

Still today, I don't know how they received so much coverage. I cannot claim to remember one song they sang. I guess that means they were like a flash in the pan - like so many other groups who are 'here today and gone tomorrow'. Several girl groups went by the wayside like 'The Spice Girls'. Obviously, some of them have made their mark in the entertainment world - by marrying 'up' and by having babies 'up' (Eddie Murphy?!)

Back in the days, yes. 'Cos they were like the first all-girl pop band that dress funky with catchy tunes to sing to. These days you have the Pussycat Dolls, Destiny's Child (when they were together) etc.
