This is considered to reduce the life of the battery. Best practice is to allow the battery to empty before plugging for recharge.
The suggestion to remove the battery is a very correct one..
On the other hand if you never use the laptop outside your house (needing battery supply) you wont have a problem...but anyway why reduce the life if u can avoid it

Normally people will say oh yes but I won't.
Just look at the plug points can you find dust, it could be dangerous. Or if you want to have longer battery life. You better completely use the battery whenever you want to recharge.

Or if your computer is only plugged in even in that case my humble opinion is when you sleep let computer sleep too.

Point of Advise*** Never leave plug in the socket longer the dust is a cause of fire. Some time electric cable got tangled and cause short circuit.

Now it is up to you what you do but remember SAFETY FIRST

yes it is OK - laptops are usually designed to be used as replacement desktops these days
often in businesses they are used in docking stations
so the charging circuits are designed not to damage the batteries even if they are always plugged in

make sure that you don't block the cooling vents on the laptop though - they can get quite hot. maybe lift the back up by an inch by propping it on something - make sure you do not block any vents. (thats what a docking station does). helps airflow underneath - where the batteries are located
good practice to shut it off over night as well anyway

Yes, it should be. I always do that too because I don't wanna ever have to buy a new battery. I have no idea why I even bought a laptop to begin with! :P

I think it is better to unplug the charger periodically and use the battery and run it down then recharge it.
