Because love takes time to build, and so many emotions in yourself are involved. The dream is lost and only the memories remain. We remember all the good times and they seem to outweigh the bad because we want to believe that loving them in the first place wasn't all for nothing. Often we blame ourselves........thinking ......did I do everything possible to keep the love alive in itself? We tend to overgeneralize and magnify all the better parts of the person instead of the bad parts that lead us to why we are now learning how to live without them.It takes a long tme to put your feelings in the right perspective to accept the real truths about someone especially when you put so much of yourself into them. Understanding how not to love someone starts by being truthfull about the other person and how we percieve them. Were we in love with the idea of loving them so much, that we didn't want to see that the person was incapable of not loving us on the same level? We don't want to believe that we could make the mistake of investing our love in someone that could not feel the same way. It takes time to put our feelings in the right place about our self before we get over someone and trust ourselves to move on again. Often we obsess and stay in our head to avoid the truth of our feelings where the relationsip was concerned. When we get stuck there is only one thing you can do..........take action do something .....don't meditate on it........push yourself back into the world and do things. Just as it takes courage to love someone ...,you own the courage to love again.

Because emotion is not a machine that you can stop it at anytime you want. What makes it difficult, is you always think of him, specially if you have memories together. You can subside the feelings of loving the person by paying your attention into something else or someone else that can make your mind unfocus to that person. It may help also if you stop seeing and communicating with that person.

It's difficult to stop loving a person, because you love them! What else do you love and what else would hurt if it was taken away from you.

What if it was material, like your house, car, whatever if you love it, it will be difficult, now compare things like that with a person. Oh it's incredibly difficult to fall out of love with another person.

It's too sad, but if the person doesn't love you, it will have to end.

because you have invested feelings in this person. You let them determine your self worth and care about what they think of you. Thats if dumped or rejected. If not dumped or rejected you cannot just stop loving a person. They were a part of your life and you developed feelings for them. You cant just turn it off.

i don't think of you may 'love' somebody & stop loving the guy while that individual hasn't replaced. It potential which you in no way particularly enjoyed the guy interior the 1st place... it occurs while everybody is on a rebound... it could take place which you think of you're looking new love as quickly as greater till ultimately the freshness fades & fact flashes lower back into you.

You're giving in to the emotions and allowing the chemicals to ruin your thinking. Just realize that the oxytoxin will pass out of your system after awhile. You'll find other people to love.

Lord, if I had the answer to that I could write a book!! My last relationship lasted 16 years....a lot of ups and downs.....he never learned to trust me....but boy!!!! do I miss him!! I may never get over this one......and I'm the only one who will ever understand. Everyone only saw the bad side of our relationship.....so everyone thinks I'm much better off. Time is the only answer.....time and prayer. Best of luck!!!

It is hard especially if you are or were married someone to stop loving them. That is because you became "one flesh" with them, so trying to stop loving them is like denying a part of yourself.
