Everyone would assume its teens, because thats where the majority of thier pocket money would be assumed to go.
However, they don't have the financial income to spend as much.

Older teens to early 20's are now going out clubbing, partying etc, so its not those either.

I'd go with late 20's to late 30's spending the most on music and its merchandise, concerts etc..
They have the income from work, but not yet always bogged down with household bills etc as the late 30's upwards are.

As a middle school teacher, I am constantly reminded of the new songs and CD's that have been released. I would think that the mid-teens to late teens are supporting this music industry the most. However, as technology gets more and more sophisticated, I am sure that record companies and the like will find ways to reduce the amount of 'copying' that is done. I would venture to say that millions of dollars are lost because of the availability to download music and burn to CD's. I can tell you the last CD I purchased was - "Crash".
