I've lived in Baltimore all my life, and I've read many stories about this game, and even watched the film from it. While it was a very good game, and certainly exciting to watch, I don't believe it's anywhere near the "greatest game ever played" as it's been so named. Does anyone know why it's called that? Is it just over hyped a bit? Or is it more because it was the most exciting game up to that point in time?

I believe that was the first overtime game ever in the NFL, and for that to occur in the Championship game. It was also the game that put the NFL on the map.

i dont think its possible to clarify the best game ever. it can certainly be among the best games, but how can you really claim what the best game is. i wouldnt know where to start in clarifying the best game ever, a game of equal strength, excitement, and competitive.
