I have an ice skating competition today and I'm really nervous! Is there a way I can rid myself of this nervousness?

try and block negative thoughts from your mind, tell yourself that you will do fine and dont even worry about the competition, they all have the same butterflies that you do.

Don't fight it... Go with it... Think of your nervousness as an extra energy source, (like adrenaline), that will actually help you to perform better. EVERY athelete gets nervous at times. Some just hide it better than others. Take a deep breath before you skate and go out there and do your best. You'll be fine.

I drove Demolition Derby, at stadium Monster Truck shows, with ten other drivers, in front of 60,000 screaming fans. I had butterflies & extra pressure to perform because I had landed the main sponsor for the event. Once the event starts, you block out the surrounding & concentrate on one thing, that's giving it your all & perform like you've done throughout your training. Keep in mind that you know you are better than the rest. . .

Good Luck. . . . . . . . . . .

try deep breathing. and think of positive things. imagine yourself doing your best. dont focus on winning, but accomplishing personal goals. picture yourself doing what ever it is and you'll be much more likely to pull it off
