So many things - and it seems the older I get, the closer I get to departing the scene, the list grows longer and longer.

First, nature - the usual suspects, of course: places such as the Grand Canyon, Victoria Falls, The Amazon Rain Forest, etc.
Then the other creatures we share this Earth with: Blue Whales, Snow Leopards, Tigers, Elephants,
Eagles, etc.
Then, the monumental creations of humanity: The Great Wall, the Pyramids, the Chaco Canyon ruins, Petra, etc.
Then the artistic creations of humanity: Mozart/Beethoven symphonies, Van Gogh/Rembrandt paintings, Shakespeare's plays, Dante's poetry, Faulkner's novels, etc.
Last - but by no means least - just an ordinary sunrise/sunset or looking up at the sky on a starry night.

Nothing takes the breath away. Simply the breath leaves the body. It is not the body that casts away the breath. It is the other way round. The breath casts away the body.

Yeah... I had an Italian guy take my breath away, too. Come to find out, he stayed pretty busy doing that for lots and lots of women.

My "italian" man. I finally got the chance to meet him in real last month after 3 years of chat. He lives in Italy and I live in the USA. He is perfect in everything. He took my breath away at first impact and for the remainder of the days we shared together in real.

Handel's Largo from Xerxes--a sweeping and emotional piece of music

Mountains--they seem to bear the very thumbprint of God when you are alone and among them; somehow both intimidating and inviting at once

A picture I keep on my desk of my wife on our wedding day--it is still, after many years, the most beautiful thing I have ever seen

Flowers and a girl i love.

Even though this girl is not with me but when her memories clouds my mind i am like drowning into heaven, like my thoughtless, nothing comes in mind just her memories, the times we spend together, her divine smile, her gentle touch. With her memories i am like in a totally different world, a world which now not exists, but she is a beautiful dream i watch with open eyes.

And, the next thing that takes away my breath are flowers, when i am with flowers, surrounded by them, i feel like they are radiating colors and fragrance, as i touch a flower i close my mind and try to feel them like persons, i touch them like i am touching infant babies, feeling their small arms, i can't even explain how does it feels to feel this beautiful relation i share with flowers.

The fascination that I feel over any mystery -- could be a lichen on a tree, could be an individual. Everything is complex in a way that is simultaneously beautiful and painful.
