Yes, In the league phase game of the WC between RSA vs AUS, it was a close match I think, RSA was around 160 for no loss in 22-23 overs chasing AUS's big total of 378 but after that Smith got cramps retired hurt, Devillers got out & the momentum & tempo of the innings was broken & RSA lost. But when u comapred man to man team power both have long batting line ups, great bowelers - Mcgrath, Pollock, great allrounders - Symonds, Kallis & both are extremely great fileding sides. Also on a another day on a different wicket RSA has a definite chance to beat AUS but they have to be clinical & hold their advantageous position & do not give AUS a slight chance.

So I think RSA has 50% chance of wining.

I think that South Africa has a chance at beating at the world champs cause they proved that they can beat and also win series when they chased down 434, when they scored 438. but it would be diffcult to say this time around cause Australia is in full flow, they are winning matches, they dont care who is in form or not. They are aiming to win any match that comes under there way and their final aim to lift the World Cup 2007.

This current form indicates that Australia are going to win this World Cup, incase if any team like New Zealand, Sri Lanka play to their full potential then they have a gud chance beating the World Champs and if the same done by South Africa then we can say that South Africa can beat Australia in Semi-s

That's really a herculean task for South Africa to beat the
in-form and invincible Aussies. With the Awesome batting line-up of Hayden, Gilchrist,Ponting and Michael Clarke ; with the precision bowling of McGrath, Shaun Tait,Brad Hogg and with all-rounders like Andrew Symonds, South Africa will be hoping against hope for such a win. So, odds are heavily against the South Africans.Only a miracle can see them through !

i doubt it but anything is possible. the aussies have a 21 game consecutive win streak in thhe world cup (dating back to 1999 when they lost to Pakistan), and they look pretty much invincible at the moment. The only way south africa can win this one is to bowl first, and pick up some early wickets. also, they are BRILLIANT in the field just BRILLIANT. Unfortuantely, they are extremely inconsistent, losing to NZ and BAN and dont deserve to be the number one ranked team in the world. Australia have everything to play for, so their hearts will be set out in this game. SA need deseperately to win the world cup to keep the number one rank in the world, so they have everything to play for as well. I think this is going to be a terrific matchup, and the best team will win. (Australia)

Sometime somewhere thee Australian winning streak has to end and I believe from the very depths of my heart that 25th of April, 2007 will be the day the inflated egos of Australians players will be punctured by Graeme Smith and Co. I am not a supporter of South Africa but want them to beat Australia in semi final coz I believe it will be Sri Lanka South Africa final and the better of these two will win the cup.

Beyond doubt. In my opinion Australia may not enter to finals. Even then, S.A. will beat Australia. Only nack is they should not play copy book style. Should Bowl, field perfectly. Batting, Boucher and some other player should exhibit killing instincts.

Yes they will after 100 - 200 years but not in the Semi Finals.

The chances are less for South Africa but anything could be possible as cricket is the game of uncertainty & South Africans have to play very well to beat the Australians.
