I've got 97 hyundai lantra. every time i close the door in my car i get shocked.i know this is coz static current. pls tell me hw can i avoid this.
i've seen some cars got like, belt hangin at the back to avid this,pls tell me how to install that and where cn i find those belts.

the ignition system need a new condenser.that is the culprit.
do not use hyundai.use toyota condenser.(nipondenso)

the belt hanging,you are asking for is for police radar avoiding.and stop sign detector(traffic lites change faster)

John M , what are u on about !!!! if you don't know then don't answer .... , Its Definitely static build used to get it all the time ( had some really nasty shocks too ) . The belt you mean is an Anti-static strap ( also used to help some cases of travel sickness ) You should be able to pick them up from car accessory shops . Simple to fit comes with clamps etc , and you attach it to a metal part on your car and let it drag on the ground . Or when you close your car door place your hand on the roof or flat part of the body so you earth yourself out on the car , then close the door , used to work every time for me . ( hope you find a strap tho :) )

They would be attached to a metal part underneath your car. You can find them at auto parts stores or even online at JC Whitney or other parts dealers. Good luck

most auto parts places will have them, you just bolt it to a frame member at the back of the car, it drags and dissipates static buildup.
