My grandfather could do that. I remember seeing the branch dip down, as though it was being bent by someone pulling down on the end. He couldn't control it, it would actually be shaking and quivering. Grandpa said that some of the branches could break in his hands; the pull was that strong.

I don't understand it, but he was never wrong when it came to finding water. Grandpa did not call it dowsing; he called it "witching for water", or it is also known as "divining". In the country, many, many years ago, they used this method for finding water when they wanted to dig a well. Another thing about finding water: a weeping willow tree needs a lot of water and they have complex root systems. It is said that there is usually underground water if there are willow trees because they need a lot of water. Grandpa dowsed for water on our property and we had a willow tree. They dug in the ground and about 3 feet down, they found the water. Pretty amazing, huh?

Yes, anyone can do it. My dad, boyfriend, and I all did it with bent wire dowsing rods. It was an amazing experience! We traced an underground wire, the outline of a buried tank, and found what we believe to be an underground spring. Neat! It's just normal human energy interacting with earth energy - nothing weird or supernatural there.

Yeah. I used to volunteer at The Virgil Phillips Environmental park about 15 years ago, at the time I was 16, and the head of our group brought one in. The whole summer was about alternate methods, more eco-friendly methods of doing things, but this guy had to have been 80 and he had his stick, showed us how to find one, and then he walked out and looked. Then he had us try it...I got a little bit, which was better than most, but it does definitely take practice.

When searching for water it's called dowsing, when searching for anything else it's called divining. I once saw someone divine the aura of a glass of water before and after energising with copper spiral implosion technology. The rods moved when they were further away indicating that the energising increased the aura.

I tried divining the aura of crystals before and after placing them in different places to energise them. One I placed in the sun, one in water, one in the ground and one in a fairy fort. The one I placed in a fairy fort seemed to increase the aura of the crystal more than the other methods.

Yes, I recently bought a Wand of Isis. It goes round - clockwise for yes, anticlockwise for no and is still if no answer to give. I suppose you can't really tell but I think it works.
