Many other countries do have nuclear weapons: Russia, the UK, France, China, India and Pakistan all are known to have nuclear weapons. Israel is considered to be a "suspected nuclear state". North Korea claims to have successfully tested a nuclear device, although this is questioned. Many other countries have had nuclear weapons programs at one point in time, but this was before the Nuclear Non-Proliferation movement. Basically, the idea is that noone should have nuclear weapons, so the goal is to have no new countries achieve nuclear status. We can't do much about countries that have already achieved this technology, and as long as not every country in the world is party to the Non-Proliferation Treaty, existing powers should maintain stock in order to keep parity, and have a deterrent for those states that may achieve nuclear status to use it. The US just happens to be one of the countries that already has nuclear weapons (the first to achieve, in fact).

The US and the other nuclear powers e agreed together that if too many were out there and that if more countries had them then the chances of someone using one somewhere in the world would be greatly increased.
There are currently eight states that have successfully detonated nuclear weapons. Five are considered to be "nuclear weapons states", an internationally recognized status conferred by the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). In order of acquisition of nuclear weapons these are: the United States, Russia (successor state to the Soviet Union), the United Kingdom, France, and China. Since the formulation of the NPT, three non-signatory states of the NPT have conducted nuclear tests: India, Pakistan, and North Korea. Israel has also been widely believed to have an arsenal of nuclear weapons, though it has refused to confirm or deny this, and there have been reports that over 200 nuclear weapons might be in its inventory.

Where did you get the idea that only the US has nuclear weapons? That hasn't been true since the 1950s. Several other countries have nuclear weapons, and they are legal under the nuclear proliferation treaties.
The 5 UN permanent Security Council members are effectively above international law, because they can veto anything the UN does. Now other countries are being allowed to have nukes, and the US approves. Ask why.

First of all, the U.S. invented the technology, therefore it's ours to begin with. If we don't want to share, I don't know why we should.
Secondly, the U.S. is not the only country with nuclear weapons.
Third, you'll really just have to find another "the U.S. is unfair" sort of question.

I don`t know. It would be nice if nobody had them.
There is Russia ,Israel , N.Korea ,India , Pakistan , France , England and China that also have nuclear weapons that I know of.They should all be destroyed , do we really want to destroy the planet and our children?I don`t think so.
Russia has the most , followed closely by the US.
