Rest assured that for each reason to become a teacher there are at least ten reasons for not becoming a teacher. The balance is against choosing teaching as a career.
It might upset the females but there are far too many women in teaching. Boys do need a male influence in schools but schools are now populated almost entirely with female teachers.
PS .. you need the holidays to recover from the stress of teaching. Anti-social behavior is now the norm in many authority schools. The public now ridicule teachers and government must assume some blame in creating the situation in UK school of today.

there is no guide of how or why to become a teacher.

and you do it certainly not to take you temper out on students... if that is the case you need to change profession (e.g. night club bouncer??)

teaching is a very rewarding profession, but only designed for those with passion and flare for helping children/adults grow. if you have no interest in this, why waste the time to train?

1. teaching others knowledge and skills
2. enthusiasm to learn new skills and knowledge yourself
3. see the educational and skill based benefits as children grow
4. see the attitude changes when you know you have made a difference in someones life
5. usually a great environment
6. interesting collegues who you can learn from
7. placement at schools and grade levels where you can make a difference
8. enjoyment for catering to needs of students
9. exercising creativity and knowledge by adapting curriculum and designing programs to help with students educational outcomes
10. overall impressions and feelings that what you do in your day as a teacher will have a long lasting influence on many many people!!

good luck

Hi, ther are jobs, and there are jobs, some are straight foward, and adapted to the particular person, but ther are careers, that involve much more than conditions, pay, and all the other benefits.
I work in the care field, and not anybody can do this kind of work, unless it comes from the heart. We are talking about helping to form tomorrow's citizens, do you think, this is a light responsibility?

for job satisfaction, to shape other people's lives - to give them inspiration and get them motivated.

forget the things like pay and holidays, if you can't see yourself doing what i've just said then it's not for you!
