Could be wax. Go to your doctors to have your ear syringed.

It depends how long you've had it for, its weird but I had the same thing around January, it felt like a mad buzzing noise in my ear all the time and sound was a bit muffled. I had an infection though which I got with the flu. A dose of antibiotics did it for me...

It could be just blocked up with ear wax from using cotton buds which actually shoves the earwax further into the drum line. Or it could be a middle ear infection , which is right in the ear near the drum.
I suggest you try your pharmacy where you can buy a ear wash and a softener to clear out any blockage you might have.
If it continues see your GP.

do you work in a noisy work place.every one should not let any water into ears when having a bath or shower.if ear wax then put 3 drops of oil oil three times a day for a week. This will soften the wax.do not put cotton buds is the ear it will damage.do you have ear infection this can be after a cold /throat,nose infection.Try some garlic cloves peeled and fry very gently on a very low heat in a oil of olive when cooled put 3 drops in ear twice daily.do this for a week and rub that oil behind the ear with you finger on the root of the ear.try
echinacea tablets as an antibiatic fro any health shop.eat some raw garlic for a week when at home.will work.

Wax in your ear, you need to get it syringed at the doctors, but before that you need to put in almond drops to soften the wax

probably a ball of wax that blocks your ear canal when you sleep on that side, make an appointment to get your ear syringed, this used to happen to me when I got an ear infection.
