It explains how the sleep cycle works and is not just for athletes. The melatonin by itself will guarantee u some sleep but using it along with the honey promotes a much deeper sleep. For the first time in years my son has stayed in his own bed (no night terrors),twitching or shouting out in his sleep! Hurrah...... Good luck

alcohol isn't really a good sleep aid because it can get you to sleep initially but also wakes you up quickly too. I use tylenol pm when I can't get to sleep, but I still have to work on clearning my mind before it will work. While you're trying everyone's suggestions you should also make an appointment with your doctor.

i have the same issue and if i wwere you try to just turn off everything off and lay down close your eyes and just relax..its hard cause you do get restless but in time you will start to fall asleep normally..i did try all the sleeping pills (prescribed) and i did get addicted and quit cold turkey so i dont recommend using those..just take a hot shower/bath, drink some decaf green tea and lay your but down..hope it works out for ya! Good luck

Talking to your dr about this is definitely a good idea so that they can evaluate the situation but in the mean time you could try a cup of warm milk (if not allergic to milk of course) or a hot (not hot enough to burn yourself of course) shower to see if that helps. Also, some relaxing music could be of help.

Ask your doctor if it would be ok to try an over the counter (generic) sleep aid. Works for my husband.) and it's very inexpensive. Or ask the pharmacist if it would interfere with other meds you might be on.

Try a hot bath or shower, then when you lay down, do the whole counting sheep thing, it works for me! Do you have any P.M. pills, like Tylenol? Those aren't bad either.
Good luck, I feel your pain!
