i think this is more a of philosphical and religious question rather than biological.as a roman cathotic i believe that only humans have souls and no other lifeform wheter being animal or plant can have souls

Your question makes an assumption for which there is no evidence and therefore is not answerable. There is no evidence whatsoever that there is such a thing as a soul. As scientists study the brain in ever more detail, the ways the brain functions are becoming clearer and clearer. Our "sense of self" probably comes from the memories stored in our brains that are different in large and small ways from the memories of every other person on earth.

Existence of any physical thing as "soul" is debatable. The debate is perpetual.
However, another meaning of soul is conscience. I think animal have. For example, your pet. The dog knows that you are the one who takes care of him and as a gratitude, will not harm you even if you step over the tail by mistake.
Another thing - you might have noticed that the dogs do not bite very young children. Small children pull their tails etc but the dog, though uncomfortable, does not bite the child.
other examples are elephants, cows, and most domestic animals. I do not know how far the story of Tarzan is true, but such incidents of dolphins saving human life are in my knowledge.
Call them conscience or soul or just their habit, but it is something to do with morality.
