Personally I like the compaq better, they are both manufactured by the same company, so the perfomance will be about the same. But the compaq has 1Gb of RAM instead of 512mb, 100GB hard drive instead of 80GB, and also has Lightscribe.

They're both made by the same company, so the quality should be comparable and that AMD is a good choice for the CPU.
