I agree with you. Finally, most of the stations have heard the outrage from the viewers and have stopped showing and talking about his manifesto.I think it is exactly what he wanted, to have his 15 minutes of fame and a spot in history. It made me sick to see it and that the stations didn't talk more about the students and teachers who lost their lives that day. They were the people who should be remembered. My heart and my prayers are with the family and friends of the victims.

I can't tell you what was going through his mind when this happened, but I am positive it had nothing to do with publicity. I can tell you what I guess was going through his mind. this young man was very angry and hurt inside, I think he wanted to make others feel his anger and pain. When he imagined the senerio out in his head he may have imagined that doing what he did would bring some relief, as if all these people would take some of his pain. Apparently, it didn't work out that way or he wouldn't have shot himself. It didn't make him feel better, it made him feel worse. he had more amo, he could have continued his rampage. Anyway, what good is publicity when youre dead? I'm not making random guesses here, I'm speaking from experiance. I know how it feels to hurt so bad that the only fair thing to do would be to hurt others. anyone. Luckily for me and a few others I didn't have access to a gun. nor will I ever.

Yes, he wanted his 15 minutes of fame and the media bent over backwards to do just that.
One senior executive from one net work justified it as " the people's right to know".
What he was actually saying was "ratings & $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$'s".
Our thoughts should be with those who died, the wounded, the families and the survivors, the campus as a whole.
All of those students who still have to go to classes each day, live in those dorms and so on.

My heart goes out to the suffering people too, but also to his family members, they didn't ask for this to happen.

I think what he wanted was to make people understand what he felt, so they would stop doing the same thing to others. He was bullied, alone, rejected and depress (you can get that from his writing and video), he was angry at society for what it made of him and wanted to make that point, in his mind he thought he would help others who felt like him. I doubt he would get what he wanted.
This does not mean what he did was not wrong, but we need to understand what he felt in order to prevent something like this to happen again.
