It is an interesting idea of the five points that lead nations or empires to either flourish or fail and fall apart. It is a bit too politically correct for me at the moment, with the notion that what is one of the principle causes of failure in empire is the environment and changes in it. It sounds too much like Al Gore using bad data to prove global warming even when every scientist, even left-wingers, disagree. It is another attempt to suggest that the USA is really the evil empire and I can't go along with that.
