Nah... They just improvise and carry on, like the drowning was meant to be a part of the whole show.

Did you know, however, that stunt pilots are taught this?
There was a case, several years ago (possibly 10?) where exhibition pilots were putting on a show. The lead pilot couldn't pull out of his dive and plowed into the ground. Two more planes followed before someone figured out he was having trouble.
