have you been a clerk or a cashier at a store
operated a cash register
been responsible for your cash drawer
ticketed items to be sold
changed a display for a sale paper
known your product to answer questions

When in college, I worked at a JC Penney, and on our breaks
we would play with the new toys for Christmas - like when Simon
first came out - The toy section called for a reload and I got a cart ready and brought it up.
The clerks were busy ringing people out and a customer asked what about this toy for a 9 year old. I was able to demonstrate four toys in that same category that would peak their interest - she took all 4 for a $200 sale! Unbeknownst to me - the Toy Manager was in the other aisle watching - and met me at the elevator to offer me a job on the sales floor -
I thanked him - and hurried back to my hideout in the stockroom.

best of luck!

It basically means you know how to make a sales transaction, whether you know how to work the cash register or whatnot. Even though they say that, as long as you know how to use a calculator you'll be fine. O yes, you also have to be customer friendly because if it isn't for the customers, you wouldn't be here applying for a job.

It usually means that you can answer phones, talk to customers and find out what they need, and then sell it to them.
It means you can merchandise, clean, be aware of safety hazards, price items and have product knowledge.
Also means you can work in a team enviroment or on your own and smile.
Having this experence means you have a foot in th door to any other job.
