I understand she felt insulted and wanted an apology, but wanting a compensation? Isn't that too much.

yes, it was a legitimate mistake, the lady and the child suffered no damage except being annoyed. If the child sees the same word on the outside of a building or hears it in a song should she sue. if the mother really cares she should tell the daughter how ugly the word N-Igg_er is and for the child to never ever use it.

Maybe a little-but it would be pretty offensive if you are coloured.I do see her point.If it was me I probably wouldn't try to sue them.I would be happy with the labels being changed and an apology.Her friends were over reacting though-why on earth wouldn't they sit on it-because it had a label that was racist??!!It will still be a brown couch when the label comes off-will they sit on it then?

that word was not offensive when it originated
everything is being blown out of proportion these day in the name of political correctness, perspective here, there are REAL problems to address, bigger than what is the name of the colour of some stupid womans couch
