reverse percentage calculation?

Hi there,
I am trying to do a simple percentage calculation but cannot understand the anomaly all your help will be much appreciated.
x-15%=115000
so answer should be
x=115000+15%
x=132250
however when I do
132250-15%=112412.50
The answer I expect is 115000.
Please help to correct my formula and if you can elaborate briefly how to do this calculation.

x - 15% of what? there are different types of equations.
eg ax + bx = c your eqution is
ax +b = c
where a , b and c are numerical values and x is the unknown!
did you mean to phrase your equation as
x - 15%x = 115000
then your answer would be
x(1 - 0.15) = 115000 (factorizing x)
x (0.85) = 115000 then dividing by 0.85
x = 135294.1176
substitute for x and you will find this is a correct answer!
135294.1176 - 0.15(135294.1176) = 115000
presto!

BUT This IS NOT 15% increase on 115000

So {(y - 15y)/100} = 115000

Solve for y

{100y - 15y } = 11500000

So y = [11500000/85]

y = 135294.1


So from the calculations WE can see that 15% reduction on 115000 results in 135294.1
