La Belle Epoque reached no2 in the uk charts with it in 1977

La Bell Epoque sang "Black is Black" reached number 2 on the 27th August 1977.
French vocal group - Marcia Briscue, Evelyne Lenton, Judy Lisboa.

The song was also sung by Los Bravos in 1966.

I only know the 60's original was "Los Bravos", this group Belle Epoque did a hit in the 70's with a song called Miss Broadway, I have the record, thats how I know.

hi i remember the song very well perhaps showing my age a little here the group was called baccara im pretty sure they were around in the 70's and i think this was their only hit song and yes i agree i do seem to remember them being an all girl group hope this helps

"Bellepoque" is a studio in NYC. Los Bravos, led by Mike Kogel, made the song "Black Is Black" famous in 1966.

Rick Springfield & Los Bravos both had songs by this name. google the lyrics example: Black is black lyrics---pops right up--not difficult and won't cost ya 5 points!
