MJ ruled the nba in the mid to late 80's and 1990-98. He did it by himself pretty much. Should his logo replace Jerry West's?
Silly question but please picture it and give me an answer.

Dear Basketball is my religion,

While Jordan played the game at a level that few if any have ever played it at. Those who are "old-school" know those who revolutionized the game.

The 80s first of all belonged to Magic and Bird, and than the Pistons during the late 80s period. Yes Jordan dominated most of the '90s but i think he never took the game to the level that Magic and Bird did.

If anyone had a right to replace the Jerry West logo it might be Jordan but i think Jordan's jumpman logo represents a dunking- in your face "new-school" image that i think pales compared to the old-school.

Don't get me wrong i love watching the slam dunk contest- but i enjoy watching film of the old-timers who really knew the team game and played basketball at a very high level.

i think the level of basketball from the '90s to today is not at the level that it was from the '60s to the '80s.

He did it by himself???? In the mid to late 80s??????

Ever hear of Magic Johnson and Larry Bird?... THEY ruled the 80s. Jordan couldn't get out of the first round of the playoffs while Bird and Magic were in their prime. And even after that, Jordan couldn't get past the Pistons until after he'd been in the league for seven years. How did he rule the mid-to-late 80s?

The NBA is not going to replace the Jerry West logo with Michael Jordan. If that was going to happen, it would have happened by now.

Admitedly, as a previous answer pointed out, Jerry West is "old school"... but he's the same kind of old school that kicks our NBA players butts every time they go overseas and come home with a bronze medal.

The Jumpman logo is nice but it should stay on MJ's clothing and shoes.
