Mine was flat black, painted with a crusty brush and weighed 140 pounds. It had rope knotted around the rims instead of tires. The knot was a pain in the butt. The handle bars fell off whenever I went downhill, and the chain ate pant legs like spaghetti.

Yes. Mine was black and yellow with a banana seat, a basket and an orange flag on the back. It was sooo ugly. But it got me where I wanted to go.

I only remember my blue bike with a black banana seat too (!) and a basket at the front for groceries.
I eventually sold it for $15 in the early 80's during a garage sale that we had in our front yard before selling our beloved house.
To this day, that house remains haunted with memories of my childhood...

Sure do.. I was 10 years old when I got my first bike and the only one I ever had.
It was blue and white, don't know what ever became of it. If it was stolen or my mom gave it away.

Mine was an old hand me down hand painted red clunker. It had fat tires and no style.
It sure took me on a lot of adventures though.

Yep, it was called the Prairie Rose, it was red, my mother got it for me and I had it for over 25 years, she died and I hung on to it.
