I was about to say if you bought it in China I doubt if it will work anywhere.... but that's probably a bit naughty, so yes it will. There - that's covered all eventualities ! ! !

In China you can buy 3 types of mobile phones.

1. Are local phone (Xiao ling tong) which work only in the city you buy them

2. GSM (The European standard which is widely used around the world)

3. CDMA which may work in the UK, if the UK has a compatible CMDA network.

Most phones in China include an option for English, so there is no problem there either.

Phones bought in China are not necessarily cheaper. Firstly imported phones have a tarrif so they may be a little more expensive. Also phones bought in the UK are usually part of a phone plan, which means that you don't pay the full cost of the phone.

However you can get some good deals in China, but the locally made phones are generally not as good as some of the imported phones.

I think so as long as it has a UK sim card. Of course the phone needs to be unlocked and able to be used with our networks.

You can buy unlocking codes on the net somewhere for little cost.

You just have to take it somewhere to get it unlocked if its say a vodafone marked phone. I bought a phone in the uk and it works fine here in greece with a greek sim card.

It will work but you will have a chinese keypad and software! But you should be able to by a 'english' phone easily as so many chinese use english now. In fact in the universities now chinese is in decline!
